Class (2000) Crawford Arts Centre, St Andrews, Scotland
One element of creative process this work examined was evolving relationships between the student, tutor and model during two weeks of life drawing sessions. Each day the new drawings (whatever their perceived quality) were added to the main installation in a separate location. A live feed from the studio camera focused on the drawing and led to the gallery where visitors could watch the artist’s hand and listen to the conversations between the tutor, the model and the artists. Different techniques of drawing were explored.
